A rare and wonderful antique Venetian scent bottle made from white foiled glass and embedded with two portrait canes. One cane depicts an Egyptian pharaoh and the other of a side profile of an unknown figure. The bottle features an ornate metal top with its original chatelaine hook still attached.
Both canes featured can be found in beads on display in the Murano glass museum in Venice unfortunately with no specific attribution but alongside works by Giovanni Franchini. I have added a photo from my trip there that shows them although it is a little hard to see.
There are shallow cracks on both sides of the bottle around the canes. The canes themselves remain in excellent condition and the scent bottle remains in good antique condition overall.
